When someone contacts you and asks you if you want to fly to Haiti to photograph the people and those that are traveling across the ocean to love on them...you say yes.

This honestly was not a quick yes for me to give, but after praying about it and talking to friends and family about the opportunity, I knew without a doubt I was meant to go to Haiti.

So there I was, standing on the tarmac with a group of 11 other people, all of which I barely knew about to board a plane that just fit our small group. I chatted with my new friend Susan and looked out the window in awe the entire way.

We stopped at a small airport to get gas only to get back on the plane and then made our final landing stop on a large field where our hosts waited for us in a truck and van. They quickly loaded up all of our items and onto Thousand Hills Ministry we went, we drove down a long bumpy dirt road, waved at every person we passed by and drove up the mountain which gave us the most beautiful view.

For the next 5 days, I watched and captured as my new friends loved on every person and child that came into the Ministry. Soccer was played for hours on end, new games were taught to the children, young and old were treated by the Ministry doctor and his staff, meetings were held and ideas were exchanged as the people shared what they needed most, meals were shared, walls were painted, songs were sung and beautiful relationships were built.

I am forever grateful for this beautiful experience and equally grateful for the new friends that were made.

Thank you Lifepoint Christian Church and Thousand Hills Ministry for allowing me to capture these absolutely beautiful moments. If you'd like to learn more about what is being done in Haiti or you would like to be a part of one of the upcoming missions, please go to http://thousandhillsministry.org/
