Parris Island, SC

A few weeks ago my Grandma, Mom and I packed several days worth of our things and headed for Parris Island, SC to watch as my cousin, Griffin graduate from Marine Corps Bootcamp. We drove through the state of FL and watched as the sun rose and then up through Georgia and finally made it to South Carolina where we met with family at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. Lots of hugs and tears were shared as we all puffed our chests at the pride we shared for my cousin.
Griffin quickly gave us a tour and didn't skip a detail about all that he had experienced while on the Island. We laughed and asked a million questions and soon had to say our goodbyes as my cousin went to meet with the rest of his platoon for Graduation practice, which would take place the following morning.
The next morning we all rose before the sun and met again at Parris Island and quickly claimed our seats to watch as over 500 young men were sanctioned into the Marines. When the ceremony was over people fled from the stands out to hug and congratulate their loved ones, as we did for Griffin.
This was such a memorable moment for us as a family and we are beyond proud of you Griffin, here's to the beginning of your new future!
Us gals stayed in Beaufort, SC for a few additional days and enjoyed shopping, going to the farmers market, eating delicious food, exploring, play watching all before heading back to sunny Florida. And even made time to make a pit stop in Savannah, GA. Oh the fun that was had!
